The Nassau County Public Library System just had 2 ILS Intelligent Locker Systems installed to extend their library reach and better serve their patrons. “This project is designed to extend Library services beyond our boundaries.”, Library Director Dawn Bostwick says.

Dawn worked with our Graphic Artist and Marketing Director, Alex Parsley, to get the perfect look for a custom vinyl graphic wrap for each location. With coordinating color palettes the machines capture the surrounding location. The Fernandina lockers portray the beachy atmosphere while the Yulee lockers have a more traditional library feel.

The most popular feature so far has been for patrons to pick up the items they have already placed on hold. However, patrons can also search the catalog, download ebooks and audiobooks, and place items on hold, or pay fines.

The lockers are located at the Fernandina Beach Branch Library and the main entrance of the James Page Government Complex in Yulee. For FY2020-21, 100% of the total costs for the CARES ACT Grant project #20-CARES-11 is supported by federal money; from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Florida’s LSTA program is administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services. The total budget of the project is $51,888.
